The EUDR regulation

Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation (European Deforestation-free products Regulationo EUDR), published in the Official Journal of the EU on June 9, 2023, prohibits the import of products that do not meet legality and sustainability requirements, namely:

  1. Be zero deforestation;
  2. Have been produced in accordance with the applicable legislation in the country of production;
  3. Be covered by a statement of due diligence.

This regulation, which will take effect on January 1, 2026, will apply to supply chains derived from the 7 critical raw materials, namely:

  • Oil palm;
  • Soybean;
  • Natural rubber;
  • Coffee;
  • Cocoa;
  • Wood;
  • Cattle.
