In the biofuel sector., in line with the RED II Directive (2018/2001/EC), economic operators in the production and distribution chain are required to report GHG emissions and demonstrate that the finished biofuel meets a minimum emission saving of 50 percent* compared to the reference fossil fuel.

The GHG protocol
In the voluntary and broader scope, the GHG Protocol (Greenhouse Gas Protocol) is the main global standard for measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions.
It was developed by the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) to help companies, governments and organizations quantify, manage and report on their emissions.
